Aqua Regia
Combine elemental essences, purify your alchemical solution, and concoct a formulae capable of turning lead to gold in this physics-based puzzle game.
How To Play
Click above the cauldron to drop your elemental essences.
Each color will interact differently with each other color. Adjacent colors on the wheel interact negatively and form purple impurity shards in your cauldron. Colors on the opposite sides of the wheel interact positively and form orange purity shards.
For example, yellow interacts negatively with pink and black, and positively with red.
Get 7 more purity shards than impurity shards to win the game!
Game Jam Goals
This is the first game I've ever made. I wanted to keep the scope as small as possible due to limited time and felt that a Suika-inspired game had a lot of bang for the buck.
I tried to put my own twist on the mechanics to ensure it had an actual end state and could be played in a reasonable amount of time.
I've never done pixel art before and wanted to use this jam to practice that. My secondary goals were to get some game design and Godot experience.
I didn't hit all of my stretch goals, but the game is playable and I'm happy with the art I made. I had a blast, and look forward to doing more game dev related things in the future.
